Insurance & Rates

We believe you deserve to understand the cost of care before you begin. Here's everything you need to know about our fees, accepted insurance, and payment options.

Insurance & Private Pay Welcome

Dilks & White Counseling accepts both insurance and private pay. We work with a number of insurance plans and are also happy to see clients on a private-pay basis. Private pay offers maximum flexibility, privacy, and continuity of care — and many clients find it allows them to focus entirely on their healing without insurance limitations. Contact us to verify whether your plan is accepted.

Sliding Scale Therapy Through Open Path

We believe cost should never be a barrier to mental health care. Through our partnership with Open Path Collective, we offer reduced-fee telehealth sessions for individuals and families experiencing financial hardship.

To access sliding scale sessions, visit Open Path Collective and search for our therapists. Membership is required to book at reduced rates.

What to know

  • Sessions available at reduced rates for qualifying clients
  • Open Path membership is a one-time fee of $65 for lifetime access
  • Available for individuals, couples, and families
  • Telehealth sessions across Maine, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania

Out-of-Network Reimbursement

If your insurance plan is not one we bill directly, you may still be able to receive partial reimbursement through your out-of-network mental health benefits. We provide a detailed superbill — an itemized receipt with all the codes your insurance company needs — upon request after each session. We recommend calling the member services number on your insurance card and asking these questions before your first appointment:

Questions to ask your insurer:

  • 1Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • 2What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much have I met?
  • 3What percentage of the allowed amount does my plan reimburse after the deductible?
  • 4Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered per year?
  • 5What CPT codes are covered for individual, couples, and family therapy?

Payment & Cancellation

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit and debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and electronic payment. We ask for at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged the full session fee.
